The Jean-du-Nord high school raised more than $6,000 with FundScrip. Donations helped students from Sept-Îles finance their trip to London!
We are happy to announce that we’ve been included in the Toronto District School Board’s (TDSB) list of approved fundraising vendors. Over the years, many parents and teachers in the Toronto area have asked us about this, and although it took a bit of time, it has been a pleasure to work with the TDSB to make this approval happen.
In 5 years, the Grande-Rivière high school raised almost $40,0000 for different school trips with the FundScrip program.
In only four years, the Outdoors program from the Versant High School raised more than $37,000 with FundScrip to travel to the Grand Canyon.
Back in April of this year, we were pleasantly surprised to see FundScrip being discussed by Yoni Freedhoff of Weighty Matters as an alternative to traditional fundraising efforts for Hospitals. Since then, the conversation about being smarter about how our large institutions fundraise has continued. This time in an article by Lois Abraham of The Canadian Press, the topic is one that is close to our hearts, the health of our students and how best to improve school fundraising.
The Social Science program at Cegep Beauce-Appalaches has raised more than $20,000 for educational trips. Even though this is their 15th trip, they only started using FundScrip in November 2013. "FundScrip has also become the most effective way to finance our trips, especially by doing it long term " said FundScrip group administrator Jonathan Roy Marois. These educational trips are organized in conjunction with the Integrative Seminar course which gives the students the opportunity to put into practice some of the social science methods that they’ve learned, with the goal of tackling various issues that exist at their destination.
The Etobicoke Youth Band is a community-based band of over 100 high school students from different schools in the Greater Toronto Area. The band was formed to give music students the opportunity to play a wide repertoire of music, from classic to pop. The band performs locally in the community, as well as performing throughout North America. Using the FundScrip fundraising program, the group was able to raise an impressive $24,274.35 to date. Parents and teachers from Warman Community Middle School (WCMS) in Saskatchewan raised roughly $8,600 with FundScrip in just one order using paper order forms. The local community newspaper, Clark’s Crossing Gazette, featured the fundraising achievement. With the ultimate goal of raising $7, 500 for their extracurricular program, Greg Tebay, the principal of WCMS, issued a challenge where he would sleep on the roof of the school if the fundraising goal was met. Exceeding their expectations, the goal was surpassed after only one order.
