4 Tips to Prepare Your Fundraiser for Back to School
Time flies and even though it may feel like the school year ended a week ago, another one is actually starting very soon! Make sure your fundraising campaign is ready in time for back to school with 4 tips that we’d like to share with you.
1. Prepare Paper Order Forms
For those admins whose groups use paper order forms, this first step is pretty easy and fast to complete. All you need to do is get the paper order forms ready, so you can hand them out to students who will give it to their parents. To do so, simply login and download the forms, print them and hand them out! If you communicate with parents via email or any web platform, you can even send them the form directly.
Using these forms, you will be able to manage orders easily by keeping track of who ordered what, and don’t forget to collect the money at the same time before placing the order online! When received, you can distribute the gift card orders to students.
2. Prepare an Information Sheet
This step is important and essential, as parents need to know why and how money will be raised. They need to be informed on the cause they are raising for, to be really involved. Therefore, prepare an information sheet explaining how FundScrip works, how the raised donations will be used and mention any other relevant information such as contact information.
3. Keep Them Updated with the Fundraising Progress
Prepare your communication tools: it can be a weekly newsletter via email, a monthly paper bulletin, or any other method. Have the design ready, establish the frequency and channel you will be using to communicate with parents. FundScrip has a tool ready for you to use in the group administration site. It is a group broadcast feature that can be used to communicate with the group members.
Keep the parents involved by giving updates regularly. Let them know how much is being raised so they can follow the progress at the same time and see how they contribute. You can motivate your supporters by keeping them up to date with a FundScrip poster. Also, it’s nice to show who the top supporters are to maintain their motivation.
4. Suggest Parents to Buy Often
For every occasion there is, remind parents that they can get gift cards while raising donations at the same time. Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, Valentine’s Day, or any other occasion are great to get gift cards for purchases or even to give a gift card itself.
Prepare a list of every occasion there is for them to buy gift cards and suggest a few for those occasions. You can even give a prize at the end of the school year for the top supporter! Recurring orders are also a great method to have them order consistantly and to have better results.
Don’t forget to start by suggesting them to buy school supplies with gift cards!
